Photographers who photograph outdoors in all kinds of weather have a secret: the more dramatic and overcast the sky is, the more colorful and saturated the colors are. An ordinary close up of aspen leaves on the ground is transformed into a colorful subject of leaves that are in varying degrees of decay and beaded with raindrops from a recent shower.
My friend and I were camping near the lake and I saw a sunset developing as evening neared. The shoreline rocks and grasses became silhouetted as the sky divided into deep blues and reddish orange.
Photo was taken in the Cottonwood Lake area, and this scene was just off the road to the lake. It was hard to leave because around every corner was another beautiful shot to be made!
