As happens in this area, a storm nearby caused this creek to suddenly rise in volume and I was startled how quickly this serene scene was changing into a dangerous situation.
The sudden rise in water volume was startling and I realized how flash floods can catch you off guard if you don't understand what storms can do to small creeks - even when it's not raining where you are.
