Yankee Boy Basin, near Ouray, Colorado is one of my favorite destinations. Here, the sun peeks through the clouds for a moment to lighten the lush green mountainside, with Sneffels Creek meandering below.
The contrast of the dead wood with the colorful ground cover around it creates a beautiful abstract near Cottonwood Lake, Colorado.
This Spring photo of the largest waterfall in this area, has patches of snowdrifts on both sides of the creek. This was my first trip to this basin and there were sections of water that you could actually walk over that were covered with thick sections of ice and snow.
