Happy Halloween!
This is why I don't put out pumpkins on display on MY porch. Squirrels love pumpkins!
Urban Sunset
One day I saw this wonderful sunset developing and realized it was too late to travel to a scenic area, so I just started walking from my home with my camera in hand. It had just rained and as I got to an alley, I looked down it and saw this.
Colorful Hot Air Balloon with Flags
Colorado Springs has an annual balloon festival at its Memorial Park on the weekend of the Labor Day holiday. About sixty to seventy hot air balloons take off early in the morning near Prospect Lake and everyone can get up close and personal to the balloons. It's a fun experience for children and adults alike!
Labor Day Balloon Festival
Every Labor Day, Colorado Springs has a celebration at Memorial Park and hot air balloons are the main attraction.
Crescent Moon Above Silouetted Mountain Top
This shot was taken near Ouray, Colorado while camping near the Black Bear Road.
Spring Robins in my Birdbath
My backyard is a favorite stop for birds. They feed on the birdfeeder seed nearby, enjoy the apples on the apple tree and grapes on the vines. When the tree matures, they will have plums also. They have competition from the squirrels, but have never seen the squirrels in the birdbath though.
Peekin Inside
This one needs a closer inspection, which is what this mother and son thought when they wanted to look inside a hot air balloon. I don't know if the kid had his mom's permission though!
Pikes Peak Summit Winter Wind
Pikes Peak, at an elevation of 14,115 feet, has its own climate. This photo was taken with a telephoto lens. Although tourists can travel to the summit, the weather would not have been very comfortable on this day.
Posing Rabbit
Bet you can't guess where this rabbit photo was taken. Can't guess? Well, it was taken at the Paint Mines of course! Besides tall, colorful rock formations, the Paint Mines area is frequented by wildlife such as rabbits, deer, and coyotes.
